Thank you for another wonderful week at Surfside Beach. We appreciate the warm welcome we received from Mary and the other staff member when checking in. Check-in is very efficient. We noticed some nice little touches in the house that were added since our last visit. We enjoyed the great amenities of the village.

All together, this place was great! I’ve stayed inside this community many times, never at this place so I knew what to expect. I know the houses are older. I read some of the reviews and was a little worried but not enough to not book, I’m glad I did. I think if there were concerns before about deck furniture and steps and things like this, owner/property manager has done a great job becuase we had no issues. There were no bugs, place was very clean, beds were comfortable, everything inside the home worked as it should. We felt it was clean and safe, would definitely stay there again and again. Love having an ocean view and love the amenity card to get in to that parking lot right at the beach access although you’re so close we walked many of the times but was nice to bring the car over when we wanted to. My only 2 issues were: I think the place could use a hose/somewhere to wash off the sand before entering home, only helps cut down on sand inside home, we did our best to leave our Sandy stuff on deck and used a towel we brought to wipe our feet down by door, this is just a small minor “issue” not really an issue more of a suggestion.
The other is that the rental company needs to disclose that someone lives downstairs. There was no false advertisement, I knew we weren’t being offered the lower level, had no problem with that. We never even saw the tenant, also not a problem at all with the person. It’s just that it wasn’t disclosed and in all fairness it should be listed on the property details. The only real issue we had with it was we had less parking than planned. Other than those 2 suggestion/issues we loved this place and would stay here again.

We love staying @ 1980 Lark the location to the beach & the view are amazing!!! The house has everything you need!!! Beautifully decorated!!!

Nice location across from the ocean, unfortunately condo building blocked the sunrise view. Was disappointed. King bed needs to be updated. Deck needs replacing. Very spongey and dipping in places.

We enjoyed the house again this year. It was our 3rd year here. The house is nice. The porch has a great view of the ocean. We are looking forward to returning in November thru January again.

We have stayed here several times, really like the location, the TV service has always been terrible But we called office and a Staff person swung by and gave us some tips to find more channels in the remote guide, that were not grayed out and--un-accessible. Also the stairs up had been damaged before we got there, but Ed- Maintenance Guy came by to schedule repair and we just used the back steps, no problem there. Ed is Really Great, He Gets 5 Gold Stars! We have dealt w him before and he is always excellent! The Living Room Wicker furniture is a little lacking in comfort. We will book this house for next year.

House was in a great location and mostly clean. I had to mop floors as they were very dirty..bottom of socks black. Also, we could not charge the golf cart as the outlets in the car port area do not work. We hd to purchase a $50 extension cord to reach outlet in the back if they house. Still was a great house in a great location and would rent again!

The house could definitely use some updating and repairs. The material on the furniture (bar stools,chairs & benches) was dirty. The outlets in the bathrooms did not work. Almost every door would creak and squeek when opening and closing. The refrigerator took a good 24 hours until it would keep anything cold. The location was great. The air conditioning worked great.

We found the house very nice. We have rented for November, December and January this fall.The only problem we is the cupboards are so full with dishes and glasses there is no where put any groceries.

We had a very easy check in. Our originally rental had a maintenance issue so we were able to easily switch to this unit. Right across from the beach and in a nice little vacation community. The house itself had everything we needed.

Our rental was great except for one major issue and one minor issue. When we arrived on Thursday evening, my wife took a shower. As she was taking her shower the hot water began to smell awful like rotten eggs or sulfur. When she got out of the shower, her silver ring and bracelet had turned brownish/purple. This had never happened before even though she wears that jewelry all the time including while she sleeps and take showers. The next day we had to take her jewelry to a local jewelry shop in Surfside (Vandy) and get it cleaned. The jewelry returned to it's normal condition but this whole experience cost us $30 in a cleaning fee. Also, there were only a very few channels available on TV even though it was a dish. Most of what we wanted to watch on TV was not available. Other than these two issues, our stay was very nice.

When we initially arrived the air conditioner was not working and they did initially asked to wait thinking it was working. They did respond by making arrangements for us to stay in a very nice place. It would have been nice to offer something additional for the inconvenience but we were satisfied with how quick they responded. The house was overall nice and we could see where they are making some improvements. However, there were very few appropriate cookware. Being able to cook at the house is one of the main reasons to rent so it would be beneficial to future guests to upgrade some of these items. It was very convenient to walk to the beach and the view was amazing. Overall we were satisfied.

When it was all said and done we had a positive experience. The house could use some up dating, The outside furniture left something to be desired, and the house was not cleaned very well when we got there. But we planned to clean everything for peace of mind of COVID anyway, in my opinion the house was priced to reflect the shape it is in, and we don't spend a lot of time in the house so the conditions did not bother us. The house does have a great view and is in a good location to access the beach. I would stay there again.

The location of the property is excellent, unfortunately the property itself is tired. Carpets are stained. Furniture was stained. House could use a good cleaning and fresh paint.

Our family stayed here for a long weekend! The location of the home was perfect! On the deck, you can sit with an ocean view! There is a nice little cafe across the street within easy walking distance! Getting to and from the beach was done easily with walking! The only improvement this house could use is better mattresses. The mattresses were not comfortable and could definitely use an upgrade. Overall, we had a great stay. The area is very family/kid friendly! Would recommend this place to any family!

This is the second consecutive year we've stayed in this house. We absolutely love the area, we love the view from the deck, and we love the house. Very family-friendly, and not excessively priced.
